The quickest way round Cannes - and the Riviera - is on two wheels.
Motorbikes are now banned from going to the front of cars stopped at traffic lights or to queue jump for any other reason. Weaving in and out of traffic is so dangerous especially when they are coming from all directions. It has been found that motorbike accidents dropped by 10% where overtaking was banned. Riders will be fined 135 euros and three points for breaking this new France wide law.
BUT Cannes has obtained an exception to this rule

Or you can have a 50cc scooter which requires no driving licence. A scooter 125 will cost about 35€. Motor cycles are from 100€ a day. These prices include insurance, unlimited mileage*, helmets and locks.
*mileage limited for motorbikes to 350 km per day plus 0.30€ per km

Motorbikers and Cyclists Be Aware
It is compulsory to wear CE approved gloves. This applies to drivers and passengers. You can be fined 68 euros if you fail to wear them and if French you will be docked a point on your licence.
Children under 12 have to wear a protective helmet when on a bicycle - on the pavement or as a passenger. The responsible adult failing to ensure a child has a helmet will be fined 135 euros.
