Mougins Village
“Eat your art out” best sums up this marvellous village which is both a gastronomic and art lovers’ delight. Whether you visit during the day or evening the shops, artists’ studios and galleries are open. Do explore this snail shaped village which dates back to Roman times and where Picasso spent the last years of his life, 1961-73. The village today has 30 art galleries and workshops
Mougins is the nearest "Perched village" to Cannes
By day it can be reached from Cannes on the 600 or 30 bus to the town and then walk (quite a hike) or grab a bus up to the old village. If you have a car it is a romantic place for dinner and there is lots of parking available. Or take a taxi.

The FAMM opened 21 June 2024 and is Europe's only museum dedicated to female artists from the past 160 years. It is housed in the former fabulous Museum of Classical Art (MACM) which showcased a visionary juxtaposition of ancient artefacts from Egypt, Greece & Rome with art from neoclassical, modern & contemporary periods.
Mr Christian Levett, a former commodities trader, decided to rebrand MACM as the Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins (FAMM) and to change the existing collection of largely classical art to work by women artists, which he has been acquiring over the last few years.
