Sea fishing in Cannes can be anything from catching fish with a simple rod and reel with baited hooks from the rocks or the beach to taking part in a group trip on a luxury cruiser. In the marina some very wary mullet can be caught with simple light course tackle and hooks baited with bread but patience and a little bit of luck is needed!

Golfe Juan, on the coast east of Cannes - travel by bus or train - is a centre for fishing. At Aqua Peche on the seafront you can buy a rod for less than 20€. Live bait also sold. Also in Golfe Juan boat hire is to be found at Alpha Plaisance Avenue des frères Roustan, the promenade. If you already hold a boat driving licence you can hire a boat. No licence is required for sea fishing, by the way. A day, 9am to 5pm, costs 160€ for a five person boat, 260€ for six people. |
Freshwater lake at 2075 ave de la Republique, Roquette sur Siagne. Beautiful surroundings - fishing is available Fridays to Sundays 7.30am till 7.30pm. Fly fishing very popular here. Among the fish varieties are carps which can be up to 20 kilos and black bass up to 55cms. Trout is the only fish you can take home. Prices start from 12 euros.
