Keeping in Touch in Cannes

International calls on your mobile are now cheaper since roaming charges in Europe have been scrapped  A stamp for a letter up to 20g to any location in the EU is 70 centimes and to the rest of the world, generally, one euro.
Buy them from post offices (La Poste) or from sometabacs.
Tip:  Avoid the queues in the post offices by getting your stamps from the machine called an affrichissement.

There are a few telephone boxes, provided by France Telecom, in Cannes so if your mobile battery dies on you, do not despair. They do not take coins but prepaid cards or bank card or reverse charge calls.

One euro will buy you ten minutes of internet access at Instant Photo at 11 rue Maréchal, around the corner from the top of rue Meynadier. Still haven't joined the digital age? Don't worry you can also buy film (three-pack of 24 exposure Fuji is 9.90€) and have your holiday snaps developed in one hour for 13.80€.  The owner, Frederick, is a professional photographer and speaks good English. Every year he attends the Cannes Film Festival taking pictures of the celebrities for an American magazine. You can buy his photographs of the stars for only 4€ each.

Wi-Fi 
 There are many places offering free wifi access for your computer including the gardens of the Cannes Mairie(Town Hall) and the main library of Noailles, 10am to 6pm, Tuesday to Saturday, 1 Avenue de Noailles, 04 97 06 44 83.
 
Gourmandise de Pains, a tea room in rue Émile-Negrin, offers both wifi and internet access.
