Chica private beach & restaurant
A short car journey to the west of Cannes along the coast road, or two stops by train, is La Napoule.
There is a lot of parking but La Napoule is very popular and you may have to park a way off and walk - be warned.
Take the bus or train in summer. The ferry no longer stops at La Napoule.
Three new private beach restaurants opened summer 2023 in La Napoule. Two are on Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle: Playa Chica is not far from the nautical centre; and Cala Mia, on the western part of Robinson beach. At La Rague port, Baïa Plage replaces the restaurant La plage des îles.
On the sea side of the station is the museum of Henry Clews. A New Yorker, he moved to the south of France in 1918 acquiring the Château de la Napoule, then a ruin. With his wife, Marie, he renovated it and created formal gardens with fountains and topiary. Open every day from 10am to 6pm. It hosts many art exhibitions during the year.
You can have lunch or afternoon tea at the cafe on the ramparts - open 1 April to mid September. The chateau is also available for private hire - for 20 to 1500 people.
There are nice beaches which slope gently into the sea in La Napoule. At Plage Robinson, near the Pullman hotel on the Cannes side of the town, Tuesdays and Thursdays you can work out on the beach from 8-9am or in the water from 8.30-9.30am for 3 euros a session in summer.

A LIFE ON THE OCEAN WAVES
La Napoule is a sailor's delight. It has seven ports offering 5,000 berths for yachts from six to 52m. You can choose from two sea marinas, four river marinas with sea access, and one dry port. Of the 810 nautical companies in the Alpes Maritimes, 100 are in La Napoule and 120 in neighbouring Cannes.
It has a major secondhand boatshow which takes place annually in April at the port of La Napoule. Amazingly, eighty eight percent of all boats sold worldwide are secondhand.

Oasis Bistro at L'Ermitage Hotel
.
The Oasis bistro at the L'Ermitage hotel in La Napoule (left) is worth a visit. The food is good although the wines are a bit on the steep side. You can buy wine by the glass, by the way. Tables on the terrace over the river have lovely views of the Med as well as the river. Valet parking
