Mouans Sartoux chateau
The town is famous throughout France for its October Book Fair. It includes debates and literary cafes, discussions with authors, films and a literary concert. About 350 authors attend plus 60,000 enthusiasts. It is great to visit if only to soak up the atmosphere. It costs 4 euros for the three day pass. See www.lefestivaldulivre.fr
Mouans-Sartoux is easily reached by train from Cannes: 15-20 minutes on the Grasse line or by bus. By car it is on the road to Grasse just beyond Mougins.
The old town is criss-crossed by narrow streets adjoining the Chateau de Mouans-Sartoux with its beautiful gardens, where various events are held including concerts. Art exhibitions are held in the l'Espace de l'Art Concret in the grounds of the chateau. The town has lots of organic food festivals and fairs including a honey festival.
The old church near the chateau is famous for its modern stained glass windows. Well worth a visit. It also has a number of walks which are described on its website.

Christmas 2022
There is a Festival of Light on 3 December from 7.00pm (you can collect your lantern from behind the cinema, 1euro) and follow the marching band round the old town and drink hot chocolate as well as meeting Pere Noel and then watch the fireworks at 8.30pm. The Christmas market takes place 3/4 December 10am-6pm. One of the oldest and best Santon Fairs take place in the town and is well worth a visit. You can buy items and create your own Provencal creche.
